East Elementary School in Jefferson City
The Jefferson City School District has updated their coronavirus policies for the upcoming summer school session and the 2021-2022 school year.
After assessing updated guidance from local, state, and federal healthcare & education entities, the district has made the following changes:
Students will leave their primary classroom to receive Art, Music, and Library instruction but will remain in their cohort groups, and the classroom and equipment will be sanitized between classes;
Some schools will begin allowing students to eat meals in the cafeteria again, within their small groups and while maintaining appropriate social distance to minimize exposure;

The Columbia/Boone County Department of Public Health and Human Services is reporting six new COVID-19 cases for Tuesday.
There are currently 57 active cases in the county.
The county now has a reported total number of COVID-19 cases of 18,321.
The county has reported the total number of cases removed from isolation is 18,178, a 13 case increase from Monday.
The Columbia/Boone County Department of Public Health and Human Services dashboard has reported the latest five-day average as seven.

The Columbia/Boone County Department of Public Health and Human Services is reporting nine new COVID-19 cases.
There are currently 90 active cases in the county.
The county now has a reported total number of COVID-19 cases of 18,286.
The county has reported the total number of cases removed from isolation is 18,110.
The Columbia/Boone County Department of Public Health and Human Services dashboard has reported the latest five-day average as 10.
The county continues to trend down as there have been 91 straight days of single or double-digit case increases.

The Cole County Health Department reported two coronavirus related deaths after the state of Missouri s weekly death certificate review.
The county has a reported 119 coronavirus related deaths since the pandemic started.
The health department has updated their daily dashboard with six new COVID-19 related cases.
Cole County has the second-highest number of coronavirus cases in mid-Missouri with 8,057.
Boone County reports 24.8% of residents have received their final dose of coronavirus vaccine
The Columbia/Boone County Department of Public Health and Human Services is reporting nine new COVID-19 cases.
TUESDAY UPDATES: MU Health: COVID-19 vaccine appointments available Thursday thru Saturday
If you want to get a coronavirus vaccine, MU Health Care reports there are many COVID-19 vaccine appointment slots available to all Missouri adults Thursday through Saturday.
Anyone interested in receiving a vaccine can visit muhealth.org/covid19-vaccine-scheduling to schedule an appointment. Patients younger than 18 will need a signed parental consent.
The first-dose appointment slots are available between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. April 15, 16 and 17. The second dose will be scheduled 21 days later.
Those who need help scheduling an appointment can call our COVID-19 vaccine call center at 573-771-CARE (2273). The call center is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
