The 36-year old, whose real name is Muhammad Sajjad Kamaruz Zaman, had pleaded not guilty to the offence on Jan 6, when the charge was read to him before Syarie Judge Mohammad Khalid [email protected] According to the charge sheet, Sajjad, as a man, had caused the religion of Islam to be ridiculed by dressing up as a woman at a Yasin recitation and solat hajat (prayer) event.

KUALA LUMPUR: Controversial cosmetics entrepreneur Muhammad Sajjad Kamaruz Zaman, or popularly known as Nur Sajat, has claimed trial at the Shah Alam Syariah High Court to a charge involving cross-dressing. Sajjad, 35, is accused of dressing as a female at a religious event, an act said to have brought contempt to Islam. He is charged with committing the offence at his beauty centre Nursajat Beauticion in Jalan Serai Wangi G16/G, Section 16, Shah Alam, at 7.30pm on Feb 23,2018. The charge under Section 10(a) of the Syariah Criminal Offences Enactment (Selangor) 1995 carries a fine of up to RM5,000 or imprisonment up to three years, or both, upon conviction.

KUALA LUMPUR: Cosmetic entrepreneur Muhammad Sajjad Kamaruz Zaman or better known as Nur Sajat has been charged in the Shah Alam Syariah High Court with dressing as a woman at a religious event, which has brought Islam into contempt, three years ago. In the proceedings that took place on Jan 6, Muhammad Sajjad, 35, however, pleaded not guilty after the charge was read out to him before Syarie judge Mohammad Khalid Shaee @ Shaii. The accused, as a man, was accused of bringing contempt to the religion of Islam by dressing up as a woman at a Yasin recitation and solat hajat event.
