Centre County reported eight new COVID-19 cases on Thursday to bring its total to 16,840, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Health.
Pennsylvania added fewer than 1,000 positives for the fourth time in five days. The 941 new cases bring the statewide total to 1,199,536.
The county also had 58 additional negative test results to increase its total to 69,508. Across Pennsylvania, there were 7,888 new negatives for a total of 4,583,887.
Mount Nittany Medical Center is treating 12 COVID-19 inpatients, unchanged from Wednesday. The patients range in age from 35 to 94, a hospital spokesperson said. According to the DOH hospital preparedness dashboard, one COVID-19 patient in Centre County is on a ventilator and in intensive care.

Centre County reported 17 new COVID-19 cases over the past two days 11 on Sunday and six on Monday to bring its total to 16,778, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Health.
Pennsylvania added 1,549 new positives 856 on Sunday and 693 on Monday for a statewide total of 1,196,562. It marked the first time since Sept. 27-28 that the state had fewer than 1,000 new cases on consecutive days.
The county also had 76 additional negative test results over the two days to increase its total to 69,632. Across Pennsylvania, there were 8,057 new negatives for a total of 4,565,558.
Mount Nittany Medical Center is treating 15 COVID-19 inpatients between the ages of 33 and 94, a hospital spokesperson said. According to DOH’s hospital preparedness dashboard, none are in intensive care or on ventilators.
