Originally serialized in Comic Kairakuten from the March 2021 installment, The Taste of Chocolate is a sixteen-page story from creator Karma Tatsuro, who has just about fifty other works on the service. This was my latest experience with their work and I’m wondering how I missed such a prolific creator for all this time, making me assume that the pieces as they came up just had tags or visuals that didn’t look like they’d appeal. I’ve been enjoying their Naked Space stories more than anything else recently,l thought being choosy there because some of the designs can be really problematic, but this new story looked like it was going to tick most of the right boxes.

Originally serialized in Comic Kairakuten BEAST from the January 2021 edition, You’re Such a Cute Girly B y is a twenty-two-page story from creator Hirama Hirokazu, who has just about twenty other works on the service. This was my first experience with the creator as I was drawn into it by the title and the sample visual to see how it wants to pull off the story itself. With a good number of pages to work with to explore the story, it delivers something that really connects us to the characters in a strong way while also delighting in the expected ways. The visuals for it are really great as the character designs deliver easily but it also shows off some strong settings and locations.

It’s Levius versus Oliver in the championship match at the Southern Slam, the top tournament in Mechanical Martial Arts. Before the fight, Levius learns that steam syndrome may be endangering Oliver’s life, and that only Levius can save him. But when the starting bell rings, Levius finds out just how dangerous the champion can be, steam syndrome or no!

I wanted to see an explosive ending to the match between Natalia and Balthus, but I was hoping that I would at least be able to make out what was going on in the match. Nakata’s art is typically strong, he is a great artist, but the cluttered artwork in the final moments of this matchup is a chaos of phantom imagery that evokes a tornado of debris rather than two humans battling it out. It is shonen bullshit at its peak, and I couldn’t even tell the characters apart from the scenery.

Syaoran, Fai, Kurogane, and Mokona are returning to the Kingdom of Clow – and toward an ultimate showdown with the ruthless Fei-Wang Reed. But entering a world that is cut off from time endangers the very existence of the once-happy villagers, as the final story arc of the Tsubasa epic begins!

Through Yuko’s magic, Mokona takes Syaoran, Fai, and Kurogane back to the Kingdom of Clow. However, something is badly awry in the country Syaoran left behind. They discover the inhabitants reliving the same evening over and over without change. By the time the travelers figure out what’s happening, they’ve irrevocably upset the time-space magic cast upon the populace with devastating consequences.
