Use creative ways to spread COVID-19 messages – NCCE told LISTEN FEB 16, 2021 The National Commission on Culture is calling on National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) to use creative ways in educating the public about the Coronavirus pandemic. The Commission says most people will easily heed to the safety protocols if the messages propagated are engaging. According to the Ghana Health Service, though adherence to the COVID-19 safety protocols has heightened, the general public must not be complacent because the virus still persists. Health experts say one of the means through which compliance can be sustained is continuous education. For this reason, the National Commission on Culture said individuals will be well-educated about the virus if creative ways are inculcated in propagating messages about the pandemic.

CNC uses drama to sensitise public to COVID-19

705 The Western Regional Office of the Centre for National Culture (CNC), with support from the Ghana Health Service (GHS) and the COVID-19 National Trust Fund, has embarked on a safety awareness campaign in the districts in the region to help curb the surge in cases of COVID-19. The move is in line with the National Commission on Culture’s (NCC) bidding to use drama to educate local communities on ways to prevent the disease. The sensitisation campaign, which began in December last year, had so far taken officials of the CNC to some of the disease hot spots, including Wassa East, Tarkwa Nsuaem and the Shama District.

80 percent of people in Makola not in nose mask – Market Queen

Some traders at the Makola market Madam Mercy Naa Afrowa Needjan, President, Greater Accra Markets Association, Wednesday said through consistent observation about 80 percent of persons at Makola Market have given up on the wearing of nose masks. She said the market was a place for all and those who patronized the place as well as the traders should wear the nose masks to keep safe for COVID-19. “This is disturbing, we must all take the fight against the coronavirus seriously because it is not gone yet,” Madam Needjan stated at a COVID-19 Community Project named, “Mask Up” organized by the Centre for National Culture (CNC) under the auspices of the National Commission on Culture at the Makola Market in Accra.
