Teen battling cancer 2nd time will benefit from fundraiser Overwhelming is how organizers of a fundraiser to help a Davidson County teenager battling cancer a second time described the support they have received from the community and beyond. A fundraiser to help Gavin Hill s family with expenses related to his treatment at Levine Children s Hospital in Charlotte will take place from 8-11 a.m. Saturday, May 15 at Center United Methodist Church in Welcome. There will be a  pancake and sausage breakfast, silent auction with more than 100 items and entertainment. Cost of the breakfast is by donation only. The church is located at 186 Center Church Road.

To participate if you received a hang tag, please place non-perishable food items in bags and leave them outside your front door on April 26. Scouts will return between 7 and 8:30 p.m. April 26 to pick up donations.
