KARACHI: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan on Saturday questioned the “criminal silence” and “insensitiveness” of the Sindh government as well as K-Electric on a recent incident in which a young expectant father was electrocuted in a rain-related incident, saying the “pro-Sindhudesh government” was carrying out “economic killing” of the people of Karachi.
“Who is responsible for the death of the man whose child was born orphan within an hour of the electrocution of his father?” said senior MQM-P leader Khawaja Izharul Hasan while speaking at a press conference here at the party’s temporary headquarters in Bahadurabad.
He said that the elected local government system had completed its term on Aug 31, 2020 and unelected administrators had been running the LGs for the past one year and their performance was known to everyone.

Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) leaders on Saturday claimed the Pakistan Peoples Partyâs (PPP) provincial government has been posting incompetent and corrupt officials from interior Sindh to urban centres to mint money from their residents.
Addressing a news conference, they pointed out that because of the PPP governmentâs unfamiliarity with the civic issues and their inability to resolve them, civic problems in the city have been worsening.
Khawaja Izharul Hasan and Muhammad Hussain said that âthe biased PPPâs enmity with the MQM-P is understandable, but enmity with the people of the provinceâs urban centres is beyond comprehensionâ.

The Muttahidda Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) came out all guns blazing against Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) claiming that the provincial government was biased towards the citizens of Karachi.
The party claiming to representative of the urban middle class, said they were ready to protest for the rights of Karachi. The PPP government implemented only those orders of the Supreme Court which went against the interests of the people of the port city, said MQM-P Rabta Committee Member and MPA Khwaja Izharul Hasan.

Karachi [Pakistan], July 7 (ANI): Pakistan s Sindh Irrigation Minister Sohail Anwar Khan Siyal on Tuesday warned that the province is heading fast towards famine due to the water shortage.
Speaking at a press conference in Karachi, the irrigation minister said Sindh province only has 10 days of water reserves and the Pakistan Meteorological Department had also expressed fears of severe consequences due to a drought in 10 districts, Geo News reported.
The minister said if there was no rainfall, water for agriculture and human needs would not be available and a severe shortage would affect the districts of Sindh, including Karachi.
