Fund drive to aid SVHC in campus project enters second half

Related Company:  Vermont Business Magazine On February 1, two community members set out to raise $500,000 in support for Southwestern Vermont Health Care’s (SVHC) project to reimagine the former Southern Vermont College campus by February 28. They called it The Grateful Bennington Fund.  “We started The Grateful Bennington Fund as a show of support and appreciation for SVHC’s good works in our community,” stated David Newell, whose idea sparked the concept. “We are in the final week of the time we have to get this done,” said Michael McKenna, the fund drive’s co-organizer. “While we have received so many wonderful notes and a lot of support, we still have a way to go.”

A Look at Emergency Nursing at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center

Vermont Business Magazine Southwestern Vermont Health Care’s (SVHC)  Medical Matters Weekly with Dr. Trey Dobson, a weekly interactive, multiplatform medical-themed talk show that launched February 10, will feature two Emergency nurses Alexandra Chaffin, RN, and Jill Maynard, RN as guests on its February 24 show. The show will cover what it is like to be an emergency nurse during the COVID-19 pandemic and initiatives implemented to ensure patient and staff safety. The show is produced with cooperation from Catamount Access Television (CAT-TV) and airs live at 2 p.m. on Wednesdays. Viewers can see  Medical Matters Weekly live on Facebook at facebook.com/svmedicalcenter and facebook.com/CATTVBennington. Those viewing on Facebook will be able to contribute questions through the chat function.

SVMC to host women s health webinar series starting Feb 16 | Vermont Business Magazine

This engaging webinar series women will gain knowledge and skills aimed at improving their physical, emotional, and social wellbeing from knowledgeable community partners. “Healthy women are an integral part of a healthy community,” said Rory Price, SVMC’s coordinator of Population Health. “We are thrilled to provide opportunities for learning, sharing, and discussion, all within a judgment-free environment.” The webinar series will be held 6 – 7:15 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays over the course of two weeks beginning on Tuesday, February 16. All are free. Interested individuals are invited to sign-up for the series or just the sessions that interest them. SVMC and VDH to Hold Online COVID-19 Information Session Jan 19

With cooperation from the Southwestern Vermont Chamber of Commerce and CAT-TV Vermont Business Magazine Southwestern Vermont Medical Center (SVMC), part of Southwestern Vermont Health Care (SVHC), and Bennington’s office of the Vermont Department of Health will appear in a digital information session regarding the COVID-19 vaccine distribution at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, January 19. The event is made possible with cooperation from CAT-TV and the Southwestern Vermont Chamber of Commerce. Members of the public are invited to view and ask questions during the live broadcast at www.facebook.com/CATTVbennington/. The program will also air on CAT-TV’s public channel 1075.
