Sources confirmed to The Hindu that this was after the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) ordered an inquiry into allegations of corruption against Mr. Kumar and other employees at the institute. The allegations were levelled by a former employee of NEERI.

Central Vigilance Commission officers to be transferred every 3 years Updated: Updated: CVC orders shifting of those serving longer tenures by June 30 Share Article CVC orders shifting of those serving longer tenures by June 30 The Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) has modified the guidelines pertaining to the transfer and posting of officials in the vigilance units of government organisations, restricting their tenure to three years at one place. The tenure may be extended to three more years, albeit at a different place of posting. The CVC, in its order, said undue long stay of an official in a vigilance department had the potential of developing vested interests, apart from giving rise to unnecessary complaints or allegations.

According to the latest data by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), the annual non-food bank credit growth in January this year was at 5.7 per cent compared to 8.5 per cent in the same period last year. Credit to industry, however, contracted by 1.3 per cent in January 2021 as compared to 2.5 per cent growth in January 2020.
