The man who barricaded himself in a Chalfont home with a gun, prompting a shelter-in-place order, will not be charged and will be referred for the help he might need, according to Central Bucks Regional Police. Capt. Robert Milligan said the man who caused an hours-long shelter-in-place situation in the area of Valley View Road was taken into custody without issue Thursday afternoon. He was then taken to Doylestown Hospital for a mental health evaluation, according to police. The captain said police were called to the first block of Valley View Road because the man was making threats of self-harm and harm to family members inside his home. Family members called 911.

The suspect was taken into custody with no injuries and was taken to Doylestown Hospital for a mental health evaluation. The shelter in place has been lifted and roads reopened. CHALFONT, PA Central Bucks Regional Police are blocking off several streets in Chalfont Borough on Thursday after an armed, unknown person barricaded themselves inside a home on Valley View Road.

Bucks DA: $4 million in drugs seized A routine traffic stop in Bedminster led authorities in Bucks County to some $4 million in drugs, according to the Bucks County District Attorney s Office. DA Matt Weintraub said in a news conference Thursday that Christian Ochoa, 28, of Laredo, Texas, and Edith Rodriguez Cardenas, 27, of Huntington Park, California, were arrested Friday. On Wednesday, investigators found additional drugs connected to them in Lehigh County, he said.  This is a huge drug bust. The total street value of the drugs seized in both seizures is approximately $4 million or more, Weintraub said. Both are currently in Bucks County Prison in lieu of 10% of $1 million bail. They are charged with drug possession with intent to deliver, which is a felony, as well as misdemeanor drug offenses.
