The announcement came last week that MacKay was joining Deloitte Canada and McInnes Cooper.
According to the announcement, MacKay will provide advice to Deloitte relating to the firm’s work in areas of government and public services.
“He will focus on defence modernization, justice reform, infrastructure and economic development,” a press release from Deloitte said.
As a former cabinet minister, MacKay spent two years as the minister of justice, and six years as the minister of national defence and about one year as foreign affairs minister.
