Governor of Niger State, Abubakar Sani Bello made the disclosure during an advocacy visit by the North Central APC Stakeholders Forum in Minna.
He explained that as the chairman of the North Central Governors Forum he has already held a meeting with governors of the zone and they have all agreed to field a candidate for the post.

“As the chairman of the North Central Governors Forum, I have called a meeting of the Governors and we agreed that we should not be left out. There are many aspirants from North West and North East.”.
North Central zone indicates interest to contest the position of APC National Chairman
The North Central Zone has joined the race to contest the position of the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
This was made public when APC stakeholders from the North Central paid a courtesy visit to the Niger State Governor Abubakar Sani Bello, who doubles as the Chairman North Central Governors Forum, at the Government House, Minna.
Governor Sani Bello while explaining the journey so far by the party members from the North central zone since the inception of the party, said the zone should not be left out of the race adding that as a forum, they have agreed to join the race even though some other zones have also indicated interest for the chairmanship seat.
Niger State Governor and Chairman North Central Governors Forum (NCGF) Abubakar Sani Bello says out of the 74,110 doses of COVID-19 vaccines received by the State, 35,170 have been utilized.
Bello, who stated this in a virtual town hall meeting of the North Central states on COVID-19 vaccination held in Nassarawa State.
He said the dozes of the vaccines utilized currently in Niger State stands at 47.5%.
He assured that the state will not exceed the 50% utilization of the vaccines as directed by the Federal Government to allow for a second dose to those who have taken the first dose.
According to him, the state has been able to establish one of the best molecular laboratories in the country and the state government is leveraging on the pandemic to reposition the health system in the state particularly in responding to future pandemics.

The Nigerian Army has said it is restrategising ways towards tackling security challenges in Niger State.
The newly appointed General Officer Commanding (GOC), 1st Division of the Nigerian Army, Kaduna, Major General Danjuma Hamisu Ali, stated this when he paid a courtesy visit to the State Governor, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello who doubles as the Chairman North Central Governors Forum ( NCGF) at the Government House, Minna.
The new GOC explained that he was in the state as part of his tour of Military formations under his command, with a view to understudying the security situation in the state, and to get first-hand information.
