Authorities invite EoI for designs from those who fulfil the technical criteria
The ‘annadanam’ and ‘prasadam’ kitchen at Sri Varaha Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple at Simhachalam will be modernised as part of the plan to improve the infrastructure of the temple and to provide better amenities to devotees.
A decision to this effect was taken by the Chairperson of temple Trust Board and Dharmakarta Sanchaita Gajapati, the Board and the Executive Officer. Modern and mechanised equipment will be installed to ensure proper hygiene and health while serving food (‘annadanam’) and ‘prasadam’ to devotees.
Construction work on the North City Operations Depot is underway
Purcell Construction Ltd has been awarded the contract to construct the new depot and work on site is underway. COVID restrictions on construction were eased from 4th May 2021 allowing the Contractor to mobilise and commence construction. The depot site is directly opposite IKEA and Decathlon in Ballymun and the residential developments of Carton Way, Carton Lane and St. Margaret’s Halting Site lie to the south of the site, along with Ballymun Industrial Estate. The site is owned by Dublin City Council and was selected for a number of reasons including its accessibility to a good network of roads, appropriate zoning for depot use and it is a site designated for redevelopment in the Ballymun Local Area Plan.

It was the school’s third trip to the American Secondary School Festival. The 15 third to sixth formers were taking a special gift to a sister school in the city - Sidwell Friends School. “We will be taking a copy of part of the Quaker Tapestry, which is to be housed in Kendal, to present to the school as a gift from the Friends in Kendal and Sedbergh,” said teacher Katie Doyle.
