Leaders across the state are closely monitoring the spike in COVID-19 cases in Eastern Oklahoma. That includes Oklahoma City Mayor David Holt. He spoke with KOCO 5 today about the spread of the Delta variant near Tulsa and whether he’s concerned for those in Central Oklahoma who are unvaccinated.We asked whether he thinks it’s only a matter of time before the OKC area sees some of the same problems as the Tulsa area.“One should presume that. That we ll start to see the variant start to circulate more in Oklahoma City among the unvaccinated,” Holt said. “I will say this I don t think you ll ever see numbers like you did last Christmas, because there s just so many people that are vaccinated.
