The Rangers Facebook page described Wipperman as “a kind soul, Steve is known across our state as a caring and compassionate man who always gave his all to the Maine Forest Service and the people we serve.”
Wipperman served the Maine Forest Rangers as a nationally certified evidence and forensics specialist. He was also a part of the Maine State Police Evidence Response Team. He worked on several high profile cases.
Wipperman worked his entire career as a Forest Ranger in northern Maine. The Facebook post said he was “always ready.always willing.always vigilant. He is a one of a kind individual, loved by his family, his friends and his coworkers. We will miss you, Steve. Thanks for everything.”

Maine State Police investigating deaths of 2 people found inside Franklin County home
The bodies of a male and a female were found inside the home on the Havey Road in New Sharon.

Police checking on the well-being of a New Sharon resident found the bodies of two adults inside a home on Havey Road on Monday morning, according to a statement from Katy England, spokeswoman for the Maine State Police.
State police troopers and a Franklin County Sheriff’s Department deputy went to the home around 9:40 a.m. and discovered the bodies of one man and one woman.
Crime scene technicians and analysts from the Maine State Police Evidence Response Team spent most of the day and evening at the residence. Detectives from the Major Crimes Unit South are investigating the circumstances of their deaths.

UPDATE: The deceased are identified as 42-year-old Jessica Dapolito (homicide) and 55-year-old Robert Dapolito (suicide). Both individuals died from gunshot wounds.
ORIGINAL STORY:
The Maine State Police yesterday, Jan. 25, received a call to check the well-being of an individual on the Havey Road in New Sharon.
Upon their arrival, they discovered the adult bodies of one male and one female. The Office of Chief Medical Examiner is expected to conduct post-mortem examinations on the deceased individuals today, Jan. 26.
Crime scene technicians and analysts from the Maine State Police Evidence Response Team are processing the scene.
Detectives from the Major Crimes Unit – South continue to investigate the circumstances.
