Charged after fatal collision
Quinte West OPP have charged a local man following a Jan. 24 collision which killed a Pickering man.

The head-on collision happened at 7 a.m. on County Road 40.
Investigators on Wednesday charged Camden Jopp, 48, of Quinte West with dangerous driving causing death and driving, while impaired by alcohol and drugs, causing death.
He remained in custody pending a bail hearing via video Thursday.
The collision claimed the life of Michael Heron, 63, and injured three other people, at least one of them seriously, police reported.

A Pickering man died and three people were injured Sunday in a two-vehicle collision west of Trenton.
Quinte West OPP reported a head-on collision occurred at 7 a.m. on County Road 40 just north of Telephone Road.

Michael Heron, 63, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. He was alone in the vehicle. Three people in the other vehicle sustained injuries ranging from minor to serious and were taken to hospital.
Police closed the county road between Highway 401 and Telephone Road for about 10 hours as they investigated.
OTTAWA Ontario Provincial Police say one person is dead and three others were injured after a two-vehicle crash in the Trenton area on Sunday. Police were called to a stretch of County Road 40 south of Highway 401 at around 7 a.m. Sunday. County Road 40 was closed between Telephone Road and the 401 for about 10 hours for the investigation. Police said Monday that Michael Heron, 63, of Pickering, died at the scene of the crash. He was alone in his vehicle. The three other people in the second vehicle were hospitalized with injuries that ranged from minor to serious. What caused the crash remains under investigation.
