London | Corporate Travel Management has staked out a role as the go-to provider of coronavirus-related travel services for the British government, but being on the front line means copping a share of the flak.
CTM is running the systems for Englandâs seven-week-old hotel quarantine regime, and also a large chunk of the process for arriving travellers to book compulsory coronavirus tests for days two and eight of their 10-day self-isolation.
CTM won the contract to oversee Englandâs hotel quarantine system.Â

Bend Park & Rec Board waives development fees for Veterans Village project
(Update: Adding BPRD news release)
BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) The Bend Park & Recreation board unanimously approved waiving system development charges (SDCs) Tuesday night for the Central Oregon Veterans Village project on the north side of Bend.
Earlier this year, the Bend Heroes Foundation applied for a waiver of park SDCs to help establish affordable housing for homeless veterans.
The foregone SDC revenue could save the project $88,980.
The goal is to transition homeless veterans into permanent housing within two years of moving into the village.
The development includes 15 single units, with water and electricity, and a community building for meals and services.
Deputy Premier Steven Miles says Queensland has not taken a trigger-happy approach to border closures, as tourism operators question the effectiveness of a Federal Government subsidised airfare deal. And he accused Prime Minister Scott Morrison of hating parts of the state on the back of the Federal Government s airfare rollout. It comes as NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian said Queensland s tourism troubles were entirely self-inflicted . Speaking on air with 2GB host Ben Fordham, she said the Federal Government plan could have done more for NSW. I am a bit disappointed. Sydney in particular has been smashed by COVID, she said. The tourist problem in Queensland is entirely self-inflicted.
