OTTAWA, ON, Jan. 27, 2021 /CNW/ - The Canadian Association of Journalists (CAJ) is thrilled to announce the launch of our January 2021 Mentorship Program.
Some of the best journalists working in radio, television, digital, and print publications across the country have stepped up to donate their time to mentor early-career CAJ members. This January program follows a pilot project the CAJ ran in September which saw 122 applicants for 16 mentors.

Night Stalker: The Hunt For A Serial Killer. The four-part series revisits the terror Richard Ramirez inflicted on people in Los Angeles in the mid- 80s.
His murder spree lasted from June 1984 to August 1985 and dominated headlines, provoked panic and has had a lasting influence on pop culture. The detectives who worked the Ramirez case consulted on Michael Mann’s 1986 movie
Michael Flatley presents Mary Gamble of Barnardos with cheque after auction

Festive spirit could be felt in the air at Castlehyde House, County Cork when Michael Flatley presented Mary Gamble of Barnardos with a €3,600 cheque.
The funds were raised from the sale of a limited edition print of one of Michael Flatley’s paintings that was donated by the world renowned dancer.
The auction of the print was conducted pro bono by auctioneer Michael Sheppard of Sheppard’s Irish Auction House in Durrow, County Laois.
“We’d like to say a huge thank you to Michael Flatley for his support of Barnardos with this sale,” said director of fundraising at Barnardos Mary Gamble.
“Matthew Pritchard was an employee with MCL and worked as a shunter lorry driver. “Michael Sheppard was an employee of Tata. He was a deputy shift manager who also operated machinery concerning steel coils.” Following an internal company inquiry, it was discovered stock worth £25,000 was missing with an investigation pointing the finger of blame at the two defendants. Sheppard, 45, of Islwyn Street, Abercarn, admitted the theft of two steel coils worth £12,500. Pritchard, 43, of Kingsland Walk, St Dials, Cwmbran, pleaded guilty to stealing four steel coils worth £25,000. The offences took place towards the end of 2018. Mr Davies added: “There may have been others involved. We can suspect but we can’t prove.
