Marcus Krause
Marcus John Krause, 71, was sentenced in February by Nevada County Superior Court Judge Robert Tice-Raskin shortly after the judge heard from an advisory board recommending that Krause be given a prison sentence rather than just probation.
Records show Krause was booked Monday into the Nevada County Jail.
Krause’s defense attorney had argued for a sentence of five years’ probation and home detention. His counsel stressed mitigating elements in the case, such as Krause’s age and his lack of a significant criminal record.
Prosecutors pushed for a more severe judgment for the defendant, pointing to numerous aggravating factors.

Library has expanded its hours.
The Bedford County Library is now open Mondays and Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesdays through Thursdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The facility is closed on Sundays. Social distancing and masking will be enforced. The library will continue to deliver books to patrons homes. Call 814-623-5010 to have books delivered to a home.
Red Hill hold on for thriller win
FOOTBALL – DIVISION ONE
IN a split round to kick off the 2021 season, Red Hill have held off Dromana for a one point win.
Red Hill were 20 points up at three quarter time, but Dromana made a last quarter charge and nearly clinched it.
Dromana kicked four goals to one in the last to fall just short.
Sam Fowler slotted three goals for Dromana, while Jonathon Ross and Christopher Irving scored two each for Red Hill.
It was a bad day for Edithvale-Aspendale as they were smashed by Bonbeach by over 100 points.
Playing away from home, they were only nine points down at quarter time, but it was all downhill from there.
