He was born in Manistee, Michigan, on August 22, 1945, the son of Lt. Col. Robert and Bettigail Hudson, who both preceded him in death. Robert was a graduate of Michigan Technological University. After a brief career in the U.S. Army as a warrant officer helicopter pilot in Vietnam, Bob settled in the Houghton area where he became a life long resident where he enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was employed by the Adams Township Water Department where he served as water superintendent. Bob was a member of the VFW and a lifetime member of Trout Unlimited
