Jones, Cards at an Impasse?

On the eve of the Cardinals’ OTAs, the Suns walloped the Lakers with J.J. Watt and Kyler Murray cheering from their courtside seats. Everything about the Suns’ convincing victory on the eve of the Cardinals’ OTAs feels wonderfully auspicious.
Except perhaps the notion that the Cardinals and Pro Bowl DE Chandler Jones may be at an impasse with regard to Jones’ 2021 salary.
Heading into the off-season, Jones’ 2021 $15.5M base salary (unguaranteed) in the final year of his 5 year $82.5M contract was the potential elephant in the room, so to speak.
Murray on a Mission
Kyler Murray could be the best thing to ever happen for the Arizona Cardinals.
That is - if the organization, his coaches, his teammates, the media and Cardinals fans allow and encourage him to be.
If you are not willing to try to see the Cardinals’ organization through Kyler Murray’s eyes, then you might never understand Murray as a man, as an elite athlete and, most of all, as a fierce competitor.
You see - Kyler Murray has been disgusted by the dysfunctional culture that has plagued the Cardinals for decades.
Murray’s disgust was on full display after the Cardinals lost 34-31 at home to the Miami Dolphins the week after their bye week.

The Cardinal wide receiver posted a photo (via the Pro Bowl) of he alongside Julio Jones and AJ Green.
DeAndre Hopkins is still recruiting for the Arizona Cardinals.
Following a successful attempt to lure former Houston teammate JJ Watt to the desert, Hopkins is at it again this time with Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones.
First it was a tweet regarding a potential restructuring of his contract in order to obtain Jones from the Falcons. Since then, however, Hopkins has subsequently deleted said tweet.
