The events of the last week have left me asking, why would any young person vote for Fine Gael or Fianna Fáil?
The so-called defenders of the political centre-ground, who between them controlled this country for the past century, have all but abandoned the social contract with the people they are supposed to represent.

An outright ban on investment funds buying complete housing estates would be “wrong” and a “mistake”, the Dáil has heard.
Tánaiste Leo Varadkar said it would be “ideologically extreme” to ban investment on certain types of housing in the country.
He added that investment funds have a “role to play” in the property market.
His comments come following controversy earlier this week over a housing development in Maynooth, Co Kildare, where 135 of 170 houses at the Mullen Park estate were purchased by two investment funds, to be put up for rent.

The Government intends to ensure the focus for investment funds is on financing the construction of developments and “not to swoop in” and buy housing estates or developments that are already substantially complete, the Tánaiste has pledged.
Leo Varadkar came under fire in the Dáil amid intense Opposition anger and criticism over the “gobbling up” by investment funds of entire housing estates, which locked first-time buyers out of the market.

THE PUBLIC IS right to be enraged and worried about global investment funds buying up entire estates and apartment blocks. These homes are going to be rented out at inflated rents forever and will lock out those seeking to buy a home.
The Government has been called on to do something to stop this. Even Fianna Fáil politicians have come out crying crocodile te
