The Plum wrestling team turns its focus this week from team competition to individual accomplishments with subsection and section tournaments taking center stage throughout the WPIAL.
The Mustangs were slated to wrestle at the Class AAA Section 1B tournament Wednesday which feeds surviving qualifiers to Saturday’s main Section 1 tournament at Kiski Area.
Wednesday subsection matches were to be contested past this week’s deadline.
A number of Plum wrestlers established themselves throughout the team duals and helped the team compile a 9-6 overall record and a 3-2 mark in section matches.

Riverview senior Beth Shoop swam the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 5 minutes, 31.36 seconds during Fox Chapel’s Jan. 14 meet with Woodland Hills.
She was excited with that time, which was about a half-second faster than her medal-winning eighth-place finish (5:31.96) at last year’s WPIAL Class AA championships at Pitt’s Trees Pool.
Expansion at Röchling in Ohio sets facility up for growth

Röchling recently added about 60,000 square feet to its South Euclid facility.
The Röchling plant in South Euclid, Ohio, has a long history, but it isn t done changing yet.
A $4.9 million expansion recently was completed at the facility, giving the composites manufacturer more space for inventory and for future growth.
The Röchling Glastic Composites site in South Euclid is part of the German Röchling Group s industrial division. The group has 90 locations across the globe and employs about 11,500 people. A news release noted that its three divisions had combined annual sales of 2.352 billion euros in 2019.

Surrounded by different members of the Corpus Christi Police Department, this was a different way to honor her fallen husband, but to her and Alan McCollumâs friends, it made perfect sense.
âSome of us are first-timers, some of us have done several jumps,â said one friend who asked just to go by Skyler. âJust to kind of memorialize him and remember him in that light â get that adrenaline rush, I couldnât think of a better way to honor him and remember him today.â
