The Hume Freeway will be closed between Cooper Street and the Hume Highway overnight from 8pm, Thursday February 25 to 5am, Friday February 26 as part of Victoria’s Big Build.
The full weekend, from 8pm Friday, February 26 to 5am Monday, March 1, will see the same section of road closed.
Beams are being installed to widen O’Herns Road bridge over the Hume Freeway.
Detours will be in place via the Hume Highway, Cooper Street, and the M80 Ring Road to “maintain connectivity for road users”.
Residents are encouraged to plan journeys in advance and allow extra travel time.

Aged care residents in Whittlesea and Hume will need to wait at least one more week before receiving the COVID-19 vaccination, with all aged care homes in both municipalities left off the week one vaccination schedule.
The federal government last week announced the location of the aged care centres that would receive the vaccine first. The national roll-out of the Pfizer vaccine began yesterday.
Epping Gardens Aged Care, which recorded the third highest number of cases among aged care centres during Victoria’s second wave, has not been scheduled to receive the vaccine this week.

Victoria Police senior investigator Andrew Stamper today said police will continue to search for missing Epping woman Ju “Kelly” Zhang, until they find her.
Police believe Ms Zhang was murdered on the night of Monday, February 1 to Tuesday, February 2.
“[The police’s] well-reasoned belief is that Kelly’s dead,” Mr Stamper said.
“We want to provide answers to Ju’s family.”
Police this afternoon have been searching a wide area including Darebin Creek, Sparkes Reserve and Napier Waller.
“It’s very important for us to eliminate this area today, and the area earlier this morning,” Mr Stamper said.
