Curtis Samuel is the centerpiece of the Washington Football Teams offseason weapons upgrade.
The dynamic wideout has proven he can be a threat from anywhere on the field, giving Washington offensive coordinator Scott Turner multiple options in deploying Samuel and star Terry McLaurin together.
Turner, who was in Carolina with Samuel for two seasons including taking over as OC after Ron Rivera was fired in 2019 recently told the Washington Football Talk podcast that the receiver is high energy and can improve leaps and bounds. You can do a lot of different things with him, Turner said via Washington Wire. He s only 24-years-old, I think he s just scratching the surface on what he s capable of.

Despite the late-season slump, Florida finished in the top 15 of the AP Poll for the third consecutive season. Can you guess when the last time the program pulled that off?
You probably can: it was Urban Meyer’s tenure-starting run from 2005-09. However, that only works with the AP Poll specifically. Meyer’s 2005 and 2007 teams both finished 16th in the Coaches’ Poll, which means Meyer didn’t get three consecutive consensus top-15 poll finishes even once.
Dan Mullen has done it, with the 2020 squad’s No. 12 finish in the Coaches’ Poll and No. 13 finish in the AP to go with a pair of top-seven finishes in 2018 and 2019. The Gators’ last consensus top-15 run before Mullen, therefore, was the end of Steve Spurrier’s tenure. The Head Ball Coach never had a team finish below the No. 13 AP Poll rank that his first team had in 1990.

While the NFLPA and team owners clash over a tumultuous dispute over voluntary OTAs, one of the most coveted QB prospects held his second Pro Day in Fargo, North Dakota.
On Monday, North Dakota State s Trey Lance participated in a private workout where the San Francisco 49ers, Atlanta Falcons, New England Patriots, and Denver Broncos were in attendance. Although the throwing session was not available to the public, rumors have circulated that the Niners designed a majority of the workout.
San Francisco GM John Lynch, head coach Kyle Shanahan, and QBs coach Rich Scangarello spearheaded the event for NFL personnel. In early March, Broncos GM George Paton meticulously studied Lance at his first Pro Day with director of college scouting Brian Stark, and QBs coach Mike Shula. On the second Pro Day trip, Paton dispatched offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur to study the 20-year-old prospect.
What would an offseason be without such division?
One side is OK with George Paton selecting a quarterback in the NFL Draft. The other is OK running it back with Drew Lock. That also means they want no part of a QB in the Draft.
Neither side is right nor wrong, but the point remains the same the Broncos are a quarterback away. Whether it’s a rookie or Lock, the play from that position must improve. Is that the only issue for this team? Of course not. But it’s also the biggest. Improved play from the quarterback position certainly won’t hurt. After all, the NFL is a quarterback driven league.

On Wednesday, Pro Football Hall of Fame writer John Clayton released his third first-round mock draft via the
Washington Post. Clayton s prediction for the first-ever draft pick of Denver Broncos GM George Paton is one of the most coveted quarterbacks in the 2021 NFL draft class.
9. Denver Broncos: QB Trey Lance, North Dakota State
This is a likely landing spot for a QB, either with Denver or a team that trades into this spot. The Broncos need to add competition for Drew Lock, but could consider [Northwestern OT Rashawn] Slater if he drops to this spot.
Although trades were not factored in Clayton’s mock draft, analysts have speculated that at least one QB could drop to the Broncos at the No. 9 overall pick. If that daydream becomes a reality, Clayton strongly feels that Paton will handpick a QB.
