By: News 9, News On 6 Oklahoma Sate University President Burns Hargis will announce a change of leadership in the athletic department on Friday. According to the university, President Hargis will present a leadership transition to the OSU athletics department at a university Board of Regents meeting. Hargis will recommend Mike Holder be appointed as athletic director emeritus and Chad Weiberg as athletic director, both effective July 1, 2020. Weiberg, a graduate of the university, was hired in 2017 and worked as the athletic department s deputy director and served as chief operating officer and served as the department s chief operating officer. According to the university, President Hargis will note that Mike Holder s continued involvement in the athletics department is a vital part of the transition. Holder has worked for the university for 16 years.
