Business groups and the Opposition Liberals say the budget lacks a post-pandemic vision and could have offered more targeted supports to small business, particularly tourism. BC Liberal finance critic Mike Bernier says the government talks about light at the end of the tunnel but doesn t mention how long the tunnel is. The Vancouver Board of Trade says it s not clear this budget puts the province on the fast track in an increasingly competitive world. The budget includes $3.5 billion more than last year on infrastructure to build or improve hospitals, schools, transit and roads creating $85,000 jobs.

Local law enforcement step up distracted driving enforcement
This month is Distracted Driving Month to help lower the number of cases where people are not focused on the roads

It’s all an effort to bring awareness to Distracted Driving Month.
“Officers from the Fargo Police Department will be on the streets with our grant-funded overtime to enforce the distracted driving laws,” Fargo Police Department Sgt. Mike Bernier said.
This month is Distracted Driving Month to help lower the number of cases where people are not focused on the roads.
“Distracted driving is just that. It’s simply taking your mind off the road, taking your eyes off the road, and your hands off the steering wheel,” Bernier said.

VICTORIA Since the B.C. Liberals opened their leadership campaign six weeks ago, the party hasn’t been flooded with candidates.
