At the city councilâs regular meeting on Tuesday, councilmembers heard a presentation and discussed the possibility of a partnership with Bird, a dockless electric scooter company, in Moab. No action was taken on the item.
Birdâs Senior Account Executive Mike Butler gave a short presentation to the city council at their April 27 meeting. âOur mission is [to] make cities more livable and bring communities together by providing an affordable, environmentally-friendly transit alternative,â he said. Founded in 2017, Bird is the fastest company to ever reach a valuation of $1 billion and serves 150 cities globally, offering 10 million rides in their first year.
LONDON, ONT. Eight people in southwestern Ontario were charged Wednesday as part of a joint investigation between Ontario Provincial Police and Woodstock police where officials seized more than $140,000 in illegal drugs and weapons. Numerous search warrants were executed earlier this morning by Oxford OPP community street crimes unit and neighbouring detachments in Tillsonburg, Elgin County and the city of Woodstock, Inspector Anthony Hymers, Detachment Commander with the Oxford OPP, said in a video posted to Twitter. Items seized in the investigation include suspected fentanyl, cocaine, meth, cannabis, prohibited weapons and one vehicle. In total, 10 people were arrested as part of the investigation, police said.

Eight people face charges after several raids were carried out Wednesday morning by Oxford County OPP and Woodstock police in Tillsonburg, Elgin County and Woodstock.
Officers seized fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine and cannabis, plus prohibited weapons and one vehicle, police said. An online video showed a compound bow was among the items seized. In all, the contraband was valued at about $140,000.
