City meets with businesses, property owners as West Walnut project nears

“I am super excited about the long-term effects for the city,” Smith said. Smith and his wife Mary own Tri-Cities Behavioral Therapy at 321 W. Walnut St., which serves children with autism spectrum disorder. They moved to the spot about a year ago, and although Smith has some concerns about traffic issues cropping up over the course of the project, he doesn’t expect his business will be severely impacted. He particularly appreciates efforts to slow traffic along the roadway and the new green space planned for the corridor. “Progress is hard, and I hear some of us are in for some growing pains,” Smith said, “but I think the growing pains are going to make this city a much better place to learn, play, exist, live.”

Salcombe Yawl Open Early May Open 2021

Twenty-seven Salcombe Yawls with fifty four sailors emerged to take part in their first open weekend of the season. The Red (modern) fleet and the Blue (classic fleet) were evenly divided, with thirteen Reds and fourteen Blues. It was great to see several new participants in both fleets, both as owners jockeys and crew, which definitely augurs well for a competitive season. For Saturday s PM race PRO Tim Fells caused consternation by postponing the starting sequences for forty minutes to allow a southerly breeze to establish. The Red Yawls were first to start with the Rayson s and Stones making the early running at the Blackstone windward mark, however as the fleet reached the Ferry, a light Northerly breeze had established itself resulting in a restart, with the Rayson s and Savells moving forward. On the penultimate beat to Crossways the Rayson s sailed themselves out of wind allowing the Savells to round in the lead followed by Greening and Gifford, with Will Henderson and Tri

GoldenOak to release new album June 25 + New Single Out Today

Article Contributed by Baby Robot Media | Published on Thursday, April 22, 2021 With harmonies derived only from the genetic intricacies of a brother-sister duo, Zak and Lena Kendall have evolved from homespun, family-oriented folk music to deliver roots-revival styled sophistication for a hyper-conscious generation. The Kendalls, beloved within their quickly expanding fandom as GoldenOak, were raised in part by the western Maine landscape. GoldenOak began as two children playing around backyard bonfires and was more firmly established with their 2016 debut, Pleasant St. In response to their coming-of-age chronicle, Dispatch Magazine coined the duo one of Portland s most important upcoming bands. As purveyors of age-old tradition sharing contemporary messaging, the pair has landed spots on stage with Lady Lamb, The Dustbowl Revival, The Ghost of Paul Revere, and The Mallett Brothers Band.

Salcombe Yacht Club 2021 Spring Series

Salcombe Yacht Club brought the start forward on Saturday April 17th to allow sailors to be off the water in time to celebrate the life of HRH the Duke of Edinburgh in the afternoon. The earlier start did nothing to diminish the enthusiasm of the 33 sailors who took to the water in a Force 3 East North Easterly on an ebbing tide. Race Officer, David Greening, set the fleets on a course to the Yalton Mark in order to provide a tactical beat then to Blackstone, a Y mark of Port Waterhouse followed by Millbay to a shortened finish. In the handicap fleet the RS Elite of Martin and Cheryl Beck led off the starting line, slicing through the ebb tide. The Yawls split between the Portlemouth side and the Salcombe side, with Mike Knowles and Nicki Bass staying on local turf by beating to Ditch End before crossing the tide, resulting over a healthy lead over the Yawls of Mike and Karen Whitehouse and Geoff Gilson and Chris Spencer Chapman. Four Yawls hung on doggedly to the coat tails of th

Honda SH 125 i (2020-on) Review

Author: Jon Urry Updated: 07 April 2021 In the current climate where many commuters are wishing to avoid crowded public transport due to health concerns, it is inconceivable that the Honda SH 125 i shouldn’t continue to sell like hotcakes (it was Europe’s best-selling scooter in 2018, shifting nearly 19,000 units). The ease of use, inbuilt safety assists and storage capacity of this excellent scooter make it ideal for newer riders and at less than £100 a month on PCP or HP it is well within reach of any budget. To be honest, it should be a no brainer for any urban commuter. 4 out of 5 (4/5)
