PETALING JAYA: Tan Sri Tommy Thomas tell-all memoir shows that he had lobbied for the attorney general’s position by meeting with top Pakatan Harapan leaders and prominent activists, says an MCA spokesman.
According to snippets from Thomas’ memoir My Story: Justice in the Wilderness, the spokesman Mike Chong said Thomas had met with not just top Pakatan leaders to obtain their support but also with the late former Lord President Tun Dr Mohamed Salleh Abas and well-known activist Datuk Ambiga Sreenevasan to lobby for the attorney general s position if Pakatan won the general election.
Chong said that in the memoir, Thomas had also claimed he had the support of DAP veterans Lim Kit Siang and the late Karpal Singh before the 13th General Election that he would be appointed as the country’s attorney general if the Opposition won the election.
