Some of the world’s most elite fighters will be competing at UFC 262 in the Toyota Center in front of more than 20,000 rabid fight fans this Saturday night. The MMA promotion is bringing a stacked card headlined by the UFC Lightweight Title Fight between Michael Chandler and Charles Oliveira.
UFC 262 is a massive card, period. In the main event, the company will determine the successor to Khabib Nurmagomedov’s crown when Charles Oliveira and Michael Chandler battle for the UFC lightweight title. However, the card also contains an intriguing featherweight contest that is flying under the radar. With contrasting fight styles and a place at the top end of the 145-pound division at stake, Mike Grundy and Lando Vannata square off during the evening’s preliminary card.
Grundy is one of the greatest freestyle wrestlers England has ever produced. He won a bronze medal at the 2014 Commonwealth Games and used his wrestling pedigree as his base when transitioning into MMA. Grundy compiled an 11-1 record prior to signing with the UFC in 2018. This included wins in BAMMA and an Aspera FC title reign in Brazil.

Dariush s striking seems to get better with every fight and his pedigree as a wrestler with a strong jiujitsu game could see him mirror the success that Do Bronx had over three rounds.

Concerns are growing among the MMA community with regards to the health of UFC Hall of Famer Diego Sanchez and the influence Joshua Fabia, of the School of Self-Awareness, has over him. In recent weeks we have seen Sanchez removed from the UFC and a number of wild claims made from the Sanchez-Fabia camp.
One of the less serious things to come out of this saga came via Donald Cerrone, who was due to fight Sanchez last weekend before the UFC cut ties with him. According to Cerrone, Fabia once bragged about his ability to throw a ‘death punch’ at a bar. ‘Cowboy’ said that resulted in a friend of his beating Fabia up.
