PLANS for a new sports pavilion part paid for by community fundraising appears to be back on track. Residents in Hyde in Winchester had been furious when the city council said it was reviewing the Hyde Pavilion scheme because costs were climbing above budget. Fundraisers had raised more than £200,000 toward the £800,000 of replacement building at North Walls Recreation Ground. But all tenders received were at least £150,000 over budget. The Town Forum, comprising city councillors representing the city wards, agreed to support proposals to amend the design/specification for the pavilion and keep it within budget. It reaffirmed its commitment to the scheme and that the £595,000 funding approved in January 2020 is still available.

The usual spectacle will be largely lacking but the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Kansas City Chiefs are about to begin the media gauntlet that leads up their clash in Super Bowl LV on Sunday.
The NFL will conduct Opening Night on Monday with a series of virtual interview sessions with players and coaches on both teams. For the Buccaneers, that includes Head Coach Bruce Arians plus 18 assistant coaches and nine core players. More players will conduct interview sessions on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, as well.
Like many operational changes that made the 2020 NFL season the most unusual one in league history, this interview format was necessitated by the COVID-19 pandemic. Previously, the Super Bowl media blitz was highlighted by Media Day, a mass gathering of both teams at a sea of podiums inside the stadium where the game was to be played. Eagles fans will have several familiar faces to root for on Sunday during Super Bowl LV in Tampa Bay, Florida.
As the Kansas City Chiefs prepare to face off against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Feb. 7, 6:30 p.m. ET, CBS), most Eagles fans will be monitoring Andy Reid, who led Philadelphia to Super Bowl XXXIX in 2005.

DT Mike Pennel: He was with the Jets from 2017-18. He’s been a backup with the Chiefs the past two seasons, so he won a Super Bowl ring last year.
