Yes, Utah stars Donovan Mitchell and Mike Conley Jr. were out with injuries for the Jazz on Wednesday night, but it’s altogether likely that their presence wouldn’t have mattered against the level of defense the Portland Trail Blazers played during a 105-98 victory on the road.
After getting off to a slow start, the Blazers went in lockdown mode and shut down the Jazz, who even without Mitchell and Conley had been playing quality offense recently and entered the game tied for second in the NBA in three-point shooting (39%).
