World's richest person Elon Musk is asking people to switch to a messaging app called Signal over WhatsApp and Facebook due to a change their policy which has raised privacy concerns.
Tesla CEO Musk appealed to people to switch to more encrypted apps than WhatsApp and Facebook and specifically mentioned Signal when asked about a safer alternative by his followers.

WhatsApp sure is one of the most popular messaging apps right now. It has over 2 billion monthly users. In 2014, Facebook bought WhatsApp. The app recently updated their privacy policy. The new terms and conditions include information on integration with Facebook.
WhatsApp will share data with Facebook for better ad experience. Personal messages will not be shared, but other details regarding user behavior will be shared. This doesn’t mean WhatsApp will start showing ads, but it means that the parent platform, FaceBook will give you targeted ads based on the data that WhatsApp shared.
In a recent update, WhatsApp is demanding users to share their data with Facebook. WhatsApp, the encrypted messaging app is famous for the privacy services it offers, but now pressuring users to give Facebook access to their personal data.
On Wednesday, this update was sent to users with a short deadline that users have to accept the update and allow Facebook and its partners to obtain user’s data. Now everything will be shared with Facebook including the user’s contact number, contact’s phone number, locations, chats, and more. WhatsApp has also given a deadline of 8th February, if users will not accept the update their accounts will be taken away from them.
