Villanova University Receives $10 Million Gift from Martin G. McGuinn, Esq., ’64, ’67 to Advance Faculty Research and Support Student Veterans In recognition of McGuinn’s lifetime giving, a new residence hall in The Commons on Lancaster Avenue will be named McGuinn Hall   VILLANOVA, Pa. – Villanova University President the Rev. Peter M. Donohue, OSA, PhD, today announced a $10 million gift from Martin G. McGuinn, Esq., ’64 CLAS, ’67 JD retired chairman and CEO of Mellon Financial Corporation (now BNY Mellon) to advance faculty research and to increase support for veterans attending Villanova. In recognition of McGuinn’s lifetime giving, a building on campus in Villanova’s new residences, known as The Commons, will be named McGuinn Hall.
