New Blues co-owner Mark Detmer says the involvement of chairman Mike O’Leary and incoming CEO Mark Ashton are vital to executing their vision for Town.
Detmer, speaking to TWTD and Blue Monday in the first podcast of what will be an ongoing collaboration, says O’Leary was their ideal partner given his knowledge of the game over here and played a crucial role in the takeover.

The new collaboration between TWTD and Blue Monday got under way this afternoon with a podcast with new Town co-owner Mark Detmer, speaking to independent media for the first time since the takeover.
Detmer is one of the Three Lions, along with Brett Johnson and Berke Bakay, who own five per cent of Gamechanger 20 Ltd, who recently took ownership of the Blues, and is also a co-founding co-owner of USL club Phoenix Rising.
The 49-year-old spoke at length about getting involved with the Phoenix Rising, the parallels with the takeover of Town, that takeover, the importance of community, the relationship between the Three Lions and chairman Mike O Leary and new CEO Mark Ashton, the pension fund which owns 90 per cent of Gamechanger 20 and much much more.

Boss Paul Cook has allayed any uncertainty there might have been about his position stating that he will be part of Ipswich Town’s future.
Cook himself appeared to suggest his job might potentially be in jeopardy following last week’s dreary 0-0 home draw with AFC Wimbledon when he said: “I think we’re soft, I think we lack character and we lack big players and I hope and I pray that I’m the one that can change that.”
He added: “The way my team’s playing at the minute I’ll be out of work again very soon.”
