Vanguard News Geidam: Buni summons expanded security meeting On BY NDAHI MARAMA, DAMATURU Following the sad and unfortunate events in Gaidam, headquarters of Gaidam Local Government area of Yobe state from last Friday when Boko Haram terrorists attacked the town, Governor Mai Mala Buni (Chiroman Gujba) convened a special, expanded security meeting Tuesday 27th April 2021 to discuss the situation and suggest actionable steps that could be taken to address the security challenges in the area and secure people’s lives and property. The meeting was attended by a cross-section of stakeholders, including senior government functionaries from the executive and legislative branches, traditional rulers, local government chairmen, and representatives from the army, police, civil defence, and the Department of State Services, amongst others.

PDP launch last-minutes efforts to stop Governor Bello Matawalle s defecting to APC

Chuks Okocha in Abuja The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) yesterday launched last-ditch efforts to stop the Governor of Zamfara State, Mr. Bello Matawalle, from defecting to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). Naija247news reports that the party held a series of meetings and consulted with critical stakeholders on how to stop the governor, who’s rumoured to be planning to defect to APC on April 14, from doing so. It was gathered that as part of strategies to stop the governor from leaving the PDP, the party’s National Chairman, Prince Uche Secondus, will lead other members of the National Working Committee ((NWC) of the party to visit Matawalle tomorrow.
