While the Bay Area saw only light sprinkles from the southernmost edges of an atmospheric river that hit the West Coast early this week, the Pacific Northwest was pummeled by the powerful storm that killed one person and left a trail of damage.
A highway was shut down after a landslide, multiple tractor-trailers were blown over and more than 500,000 people lost power in the storm that hit Monday and Tuesday.
