Friday was followed by the glorious dawn of the Sunday of
the Resurrection. If I have decided not to destroy the
world, it means that I want to renew it and rejuvenate it.
The old trees need to lose their leaves and be pruned so
that they can give new sprouts. And the old branches, the
dry leaves, are to be burned.

Corporate morality can be a flexible thing. Some
companies see tantalising dollar signs afloat in the spilt
blood of civilians and dissidents. Military governments,
however trigger crazed, offer ideal opportunities;
potentially, corners can be cut, regulations relaxed. The
Adani Group has shown itself to be particularly unscrupulous
in this regard.
In many ways, it is fitting. The
group’s record
in a range of areas suggests that the profit motive soars
above any other consideration. Environmentally, Adani is an
irresponsible, wretched beast. A shonky Adani coal ship, the

In what TV reporters call “a bizarre new twist” the
long-running saga of Broadcasting Minister Kris Faafoi’s
search for a business case for his new media entity has

the pilot project will last three years. If a company

Affordable housing is scarce, while at the same time many
apartments remain empty. This is a problem that many cities
are struggling with. The government of the Balearic
islands in Spain has now found a solution. A total of 56
apartments, most of them on Mallorca, will be turned into
social housing for seven years. Residents are expected to
pay only 30 percent of their income as rent, and the owners
will be compensated for this.
