‘Plot against Army chief, Chief Justice’
Police in Bhutan have detained a top general and two judges over an alleged plot to overthrow the country’s top military officer and Chief Justice.
Former Royal bodyguard commandant Brigadier Thinley Tobgay, Supreme Court judge Kuenley Tshering and top district court judge Yeshey Dorji appeared in court on Wednesday after being detained at their homes.
The three have been accused of plotting to overthrow the country’s top military officer, Lieutenant General Batoo Tshering by implicating him in a corruption scandal.

An entertainment studio has reportedly acquired the rights of a 2017 story from The New York Times Magazine that details the life and hazing death of a 20-year-old Marine recruit.
The Los Angeles-based 101 Studios acquired the article about Marine Corps Recruit Raheel Siddiqui, entertainment news site Deadline reported last week. The article will be used as source material for a scripted limited series produced by 101 Studios, according to the outlet.

Prince Harry has accepted an apology and damages from a British tabloid over two articles published last year that claimed he has turned his back on the Armed Forces.
One of the articles published in Mail Online claimed that a Top General felt the Duke of Sussex had snubbed the Royal Marines after stepping down as a senior member of the British royal family in March 2020. It also stated that the royal, who succeeded his grandfather Prince Philip as the Captain-General of the Royal Marines in 2017, ignored correspondence from Lord Dannatt, a former Chief of the General Staff.
