Lucknow: An conman, posing as a firm’s managing director, cheated innocent contractors across UP of around Rs 100 crore under the pretext of granting them government tender of clean drinking water. Police, after receiving a tip-off, arrested the accused from Gomti Nagar area of Lucknow on Friday.

Etawah: In yet another incident of deteriorating law and order situation in Uttar Pradesh, a man was beaten to death for resisting molestation of his daughter by the miscreants.
The incident took place in Bansari village under Bithola police station in Etawah district. The accused fled the village after committing the crime. The victim has been identified as Lotan Darji.

On Wednesday, an argument broke out between them when the labourer demanded his wages.
In a fit of rage, the mason stabbed the labourer with a pair of scissors, leading to serious injuries that resulted in his death.
