BJP general secretary (organisation) B.L. Santhosh’s visit to Lucknow over the last couple of days was a stocktaking exercise by the party in the State that goes to the polls, and while his meetings with party leaders and ministers in the Yogi Adityanath government set off speculation of large scale changes, the word from the central leadership is that for now, it will be more or less status quo.
The government has been buffeted by allegations of mishandling the second wave of COVID-19. Four BJP MLAs and at least one Union Minister (Santosh Gangwar) have written to the Chief Minister on the ‘unsatisfactory’ handling of the second wave. Noida: Work on Chilla elevated road, which will connect Mayur Vihar in Delhi to Mahamaya flyover in Noida, is expected to get delayed by six months from its December 2021 deadline to mid-2022. Officials said that the state government has not released funds to the tune of Rs 302 crore despite several letters from the Noida Authority.
The work on the Rs 605 crore project, which is being built on a fifty-fifty partnership between the Noida Authority (through UP Bridge Corporation Ltd) and the state government, is already delayed due to the pandemic where only 36% of pile work and 3% of pile cap completed.
