Okonjo-Iweala to deliver keynote lecture as NIM clocks 60

Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Director-General, World Trade Organisation (WTO), is expected to deliver the keynote lecture at the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM)(Chartered) diamond jubilee celebration.
Mr Tony Fadaka, Registrar, NIM, made the disclosure in a statement on Friday in Lagos.
Fadaka said the WTO DG would deliver a lecture with the theme: “Celebrating 60 Years of Management Excellence: Poised for More”.
The Registrar said the choice of Okonjo-Iweala as guest speaker was in consonance with what the institute represented, and in recognition of her wealth of experience and achievements nationally and globally.
TLMI has revealed the winners of the Eugene Singer Award for Management Excellence, one of the North American narrow web industry’s most prestigious and highest honors.
TLMI chairman, Lori Campbell, announced the winners during the close of the association’s recent Virtual Spring Summit. The award recognizes excellence in business management measured and defined by an established set of growth and profitability ratios through participation in the TLMI Management Ratio Study.
Nearly 100 TLMI member converters throughout the United States and Canada participate in the Ratio Study; however, only four companies are awarded the Eugene Singer honor each year.

Former Pond’s India CMD Narayanan passes away

V Narayanan, who served as the Chairman and Managing Director of Pond’s India Ltd, which became part of Hindustan Lever Ltd (HLL), and who later served on the board of HLL, passed away on Thursday aged 83.
An alumnus of Lawrence School at Lovedale and the Loyola College, Chennai, Narayanan began his career in 1959 as a management trainee in HLL. In his 10 years with HLL, he served in sales and marketing functions, both in India and in the UK.
He returned to India in 1968 and joined Chesebrough Pond’s Inc as it Marketing Director. He became Chairman and CEO of Pond’s (India) Ltd and served the company till 1997. After his retirement from Pond’s, Narayanan was on the board of several leading companies such as Glaxo, Lafarge, Bata and Chemplast Samar.
