The B1 basement of the Ba Son metro station belonging to the first metro line project, Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien, in Ho Chi Minh City has been completed 31 days ahead of schedule, according to the municipal Management Authority for Urban Railways.
Construction of the basement was initially planned for completion in June this year.
This is one of the two floors of the Ba Son station, which is built underground at a depth of about 20 meters, covering an area of 240 meters long and 34.5 meters wide.

Floor B1 of Ba Son Station of Metro Line 1 (Ben Thanh-Suoi Tien) has basically been completed 31 days earlier than planned.
According to the Management Authority for Urban Railways (MAUR), floor B1 of Ba Son Station of Metro Line 1 (Ben Thanh-Suoi Tien) has been basically completed. This construction was completed 31 days earlier than scheduled on May 30, 2021.
This testifies great efforts by the MAUR and the contractor Shimizu-Maeda during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Ba Son Station, together with the Ho Chi Minh City Opera House and Ben Thanh Station, are the three underground stations of Metro Line 1.

A street in downtown Ho Chi Minh City partially reopened to traffic after the developer of the city’s metro line No. 1 project finished removing construction barriers along a portion of the road it had occupied for the past seven years.
Commuters are allowed to travel west on Le Loi Street in District 1 between Pasteur and Nguyen Hue Streets from Thursday.
On Wednesday afternoon, the Management Authority for Urban Railways and the Shimizu - Maeda joint venture completed removing all barriers belonging to the CP1b construction package, an important part of the metro line No. 1 project.

Laos, Cambodia, Indonesia congratulate new Foreign Minister
Foreign ministers of Laos, Cambodia and Indonesia have extended congratulations to Bui Thanh Son on his appointment as Minister of Foreign Affairs.
In a phone talk with his Vietnamese counterpart on April 9, Lao Minister of Foreign Affairs Saleumxay Kommasith said he believes that Son will lead his ministry in efforts to reap more successes in foreign affairs.
Saleumxay Kommasith is the first foreign minister to make a congratulatory phone call to the Vietnamese newly-appointed minister.

Second phase of Nano Covax human trials set for completion on Apr.8
Vietnam is scheduled to finalize the second phase of human trials for NanoCovax, a local-produced novel coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccine, on April 8.
According to Chu Van Men, director of the Military Medical University’s Centre for Clinical Trials and Bioequivalence, the majority of vaccinated individuals during the second-stage of human trials, remain in a stable condition . Only a few of those who received the jab recorded a mild pain around the injection site, whilst some had a fever which disappeared after only one or two days.
