The Texas Longhorns men’s basketball team is No. 13 in the latest AP Poll rankings.
That’s seven spots lower than last week’s ranking, at No. 6. But it makes sense. Over the weekend, the Longhorns.

The West Virginia Mountaineers will look to avoid a slip up against a team nowhere close to their playing ability as they head on the road to take on the struggling Iowa State Cyclones on Tuesday night.
West Virginia (11-5, 4-3 Big 12) saw three games postponed in January and returned for a pair of conference victories but lost on Saturday to the Florida Gators 85-80 at home during the SEC/Big 12 Challenge. The Mountaineers’ leading scorer Miles McBride shot just 3 of 15 from the floor including 0 of 9 from the three-point line. He finished with nine assists, but he will need to shoot better for West Virginia to cover this spread.
Notable Players
The Gators turned the whole game around in the second half. Mountaineer forward Derek Culver scored 21 points in the first half of the game and even reached a career-high of 28. However, he was no match for Florida forward Colin Castleton. Castleton scored 15 of his overall 21 points after halftime and was a powerhouse defensively against West Virginia.
I thought Colin was really good defensively in the second half. Much better. All of us were. Everyone that played, I thought, was a little bit more locked in defensively,” Head Coach Mike White said.
Shooting Guard Noah Locke brought in 19 points, bringing in three three-pointers after intermission. Guard Tyree Appleby also shined with a total of 12 points and seven assists.

On Saturday night, the No. 18 Tennessee Volunteers hosted the No. 15 Kansas Jayhawks. The game resulted in a wire-to-wire Volunteers blowout, winning the game over the Jayhawks by a score of 80-61. Kansas never led in the game for a single second. The game was part of the SEC/Big 12 Challenge.
In the win, Tennessee had four players in double figures. Yves Pons led the team with 17 points and also pulled down five rebounds. Freshman guard Jaden Springer, in his second game back after missing three, added 13 points with four rebounds and three assists.
