First Bus unveils new timetables with changes to some Burnham-On-Sea services
Some bus times from Burnham-On-Sea have changed over the past week with the launch of new Spring timetables.
“Following the latest changes to lockdown rules and in anticipation of more people traveling on some of our services, as well as the opening of Colleges for a new term, we have made changes to some services from Sunday 18th April,” says a First Bus spokesman.
The route 21 service from Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge to Bridgwater sees a daytime increase in the amount of journeys, with service 21 reintroduced via West Monkton Primary School. The peak time will remain as per the current service. The 21 route goes via Monkton Heathfield, North Petherton, Dunball, Pawlett, Huntspill, and Highbridge.
A SECTION of road on the outskirts of Taunton will be closed to all traffic for 11 weeks from next month. The closure of a 656-metre stretch of Yallands Hill, West Monkton, will allow work to be carried out in connection with the Western Relief Road. CJL Construction Ltd will be carrying out construction and associated works. The closure is expected to start on May 5 and will last until July 16. Traffic will be barred from the route 24 hours a day for the duration.
A PUB near Taunton has redecorate and refurbished their garden ready to re-open on April 12. Peter and Val Mustoe have repainted the outside of The Monkton Inn, West Monkton, as well as changed the colour on the inside too. Once they re-open their garden later this month, customers will be able to use blankets (washed daily) and sit underneath marquees on tables with hurricane lamps. The covered gazebo also has lighting and heaters. The pair are also introducing a South African taster menu as well as a couple of changes to their normal menus. We have been working hard to have the pub, and our beautiful garden ready for everyone, said Peter and Val.
