Two people were killed and at least three others were wounded Thursday in shootings across Chicago.
The two homicides happened in Austin on the West Side, while a 14-year-old boy was wounded in South Shore and a man was hurt in Englewood.
The first murder unfolded about 2:35 p.m. in the 1500 block of North Laramie Avenue, police said. Jerry Laflore of Austin was shot in the back as he was walking, officials said. The 27-year-old was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
A nearby CTA driver was also injured by shattered glass when a bullet struck the their bus, police said. The driver was listed in good condition at West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park.

A Cook County sheriff's officer was hospitalized Friday after being dragged by a vehicle while conducting a traffic stop in Austin on the West Side, the Chicago Police Department said.
