It’s not yet Memorial Day but cable networks and streamers are already setting up their summer scripted series premieres, in part to get them out the door before the Summer Olympics in late July, a noticeably lighter month for premieres.
On Friday Amazon’s Prime Video debuts “The Underground Railroad,” adapted from the 2016 Colson Whitehead novel. The premiere episode of the series depicts brutal torture – this is not an easy watch – as slave Cora (newcomer Thuso Mbedu) escapes from an antebellum Southern plantation via an actual subterranean train.
Three men will undertake an incredible challenge of endurance next month when they aim to complete five half ironmen in five consecutive days.
In doing so they are raising some much needed funds for Cardiac Rehab Centre and the Cancer Relief Cen.

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) â San Diego County will get a taste of Flavortown as celebrity chef Guy Fieri brings his kitchen to several kitchens around the county.
Fieri s Flavortown Kitchen will offer up delivery-only bites through a ghost kitchen or virtual restaurant concept, operating out of an existing restaurant s kitchen.
Locally, the delivery-only restaurant has kitchens listed in Carlsbad (out of the Buca di Beppo on Calle Barcelona), downtown San Diego (out of Buca di Beppo on 6th Avenue), and Mira Mesa (out of Buca di Beppo on Westview Parkway).
