OCEAN CITY, Md. The annual spring tradition in Ocean City of Springfest is set to return next week for the first time since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The 2020 Springfest was canceled by the town last April as the pandemic began to take hold and communities, including Ocean City, shut down to slow the spread of the virus.
The cancellation of Springfest would go on to be one of many events to be canceled or postponed because of the COVID-19 pandemic, costing the town, businesses and vendors thousands in revenue.
Ocean City officials have been eager to bring back major events and with some changes and pandemic-related guidelines, many in Ocean City hope the event s return will signal the resumption of a more traditional spring and summer tourism season.
Northrop Realty, a Long & Foster company, is opening two new locations in Delaware. The residential real estate brokerage is opening an office in Millsboro, as well as a coastal headquarters in Bethany Beach.

The coronavirus pandemic came with an increased trend of families and individuals moving away from large urban centers, when able, while real estate in typical summer getaways like the Eastern Shore or southern Delaware kept buzzing.
The market s stock, however, continues to lag behind its growing demand.
Coastal Association of Realtors says a healthy market has eight to 12 months of inventory available active homes for sale, divided by the average number of homes sold in either the last 12 months or last month.
About 1.6 months of inventory were available on the Lower Shore, in February s statistics, and it continues to drop.
