In case you missed the news this week, Colorado lawmakers approved a bill that will allow restaurants to continue selling beer, wine and spirits to go for another four years and possibly longer. Although the measure faced some opposition from liquor stores, it was overwhelmingly popular under the Capitol dome. Prior to the pandemic, eateries weren t allowed to sell takeaway booze, but Governor Polis signed and then extended an executive order allowing them to do so as a way to help the restaurants survive while they weren t allowed to host customers on site or had limited capacities. The order expires on June 30.

Male Associates to provide engineering services for the city’s 2021 Streets Resurfacing Program. The resolution approved at City Hall notes the Latham firm is among engineering firms chosen by the New York State County Highway Superintendents Association through a Local Design Services Agreement Program and a resultant consultant list. Officials said the street resurfacing program includes milling and resurfacing of selected city streets, and installation of handicapped accessible ramps where necessary on each resurfaced street. Proposed 2021 streets to be resurfaced are: Market Street from East Fulton Street to Washington Street; Monroe Street from E. Fulton Street to Woodward Avenue; South Kingsboro Avenue (overlay only) from East Fulton Street to Clyde Street; Maple Street from Beaver Street to Addison Street; Bloomingdale Avenue from Park Terr

2 men now face charges in January shooting outside downtown Anchorage hotel, police say Print article A man was arrested last week for his role in a shooting that injured a man in January outside a downtown Anchorage hotel, police said. Police were called to the parking lot of the Clarion Suites on West Eighth Avenue early on Jan. 18 because of a shooting, the department said in an online statement this week. In security footage from the hotel, two men in a car were seen pulling up alongside another vehicle just after 3 a.m., according to a sworn criminal complaint signed by Officer Justin Hadley. The men, who were later identified as 33-year-old Hardy F. Muasau and 31-year-old Iese Gali Jr., were both seen on the video punching another man multiple times in the head and body, the complaint said.
